A Brooksville man is facing multiple drug charges, including trafficking in methamphetamine, following a lengthy investigation by the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office Vice and Narcotics Unit.
Tommy Nichols, 52, was taken into custody on Dec. 31, 2024, after detectives uncovered evidence of his involvement in the distribution of significant quantities of methamphetamine within Hernando County.
The investigation, initiated earlier in the year, involved undercover purchases of trafficking amounts of methamphetamine. During the operation, detectives seized 188.9 grams of methamphetamine, 15 grams of cocaine, 1.1 grams of fentanyl, Alprazolam pills and various drug paraphernalia from Nichols.
In total, the investigation resulted in the seizure of more than 750 grams of methamphetamine, preventing the drugs from entering the community, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Nichols has been charged with multiple offenses, including:
– Trafficking in Methamphetamine
– Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Sell
– Possession of Cocaine
– Use of a Two-Way Communication Device to Facilitate a Felony
– Possession of Structure/Vehicle Used to Sell Drugs
– Possession of a Controlled Substance without a Prescription
– Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Nichols is being held at the Hernando County Detention Center on a $119,000 bond.
