An 11-year-old girl who was struck by a vehicle on January 21, 2025, has died from her injuries. The child passed away late in the evening on January 22, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Troopers are continuing to investigate the incident, which occurred around 3:39 p.m. on January 21. The girl was walking northbound on Eskimo Curlew Road, located north of Osprey Avenue, shortly after a school bus drop-off. She was walking along the unpaved and unmarked edge of the road when a 65-year-old woman from Brooksville, driving a Toyota Corolla, collided with her.
The child sustained serious injuries and was immediately transported to a nearby hospital. Despite medical efforts, she succumbed to her injuries the following evening.
The identity of the child has not been released, and the investigation is ongoing.
