Brooksville Elks Lodge Awards Scholarships to Top Local Students

The Brooksville Elks Lodge #2582 received 20 applications for their annual scholarship review. On Friday, January 17, 2025, the top six (three male and three female) local high school seniors were presented with certificates of award, and all six moved on to the next level of the Elks National Foundation Most Valuable Student Scholarship. The scholarships are based on the merits of academics, service, leadership and financial need. The ENF awards $2.52 million in college scholarships to a total of 500 high school seniors nationwide. Of those, 20 awards worth $30,000 are given, and 480 awards worth $4,000 are given over a period of four years.

In addition to moving forward in the selection process, the Brooksville Elks Lodge #2582 presented the top two students of the six, each with a check for $500. Here are our top six winners: Central High School – Miss Jordan Davis-DeJesus $500; Weeki Wachee High School – Mr. Xander Willis $500; Nature Coast Technical High School – Mr. Colton Palmer; Springstead High School – Miss Jenny Zhuo; Springstead High School – Miss Anna Groudas; Nature Coast Technical High School – Mr. Jonathan Cookson.
