Night to Shine is a worldwide movement led by churches all over the world. Its aim is to share the love of Jesus and celebrate the worth and value of people with special needs.
Night to Shine in Hernando County will take place on Friday, Feb. 7, 2025 ,at the New Life Christian Church, 275 Della Ct, (off US19) in Spring Hill.
Al D. Squitieri, the pastor at New Life Christian Church, said, “We are honored to be the church to represent Hernando County for this event. This will be our second year and we are hoping for many more.”
Support and resources to enable those churches to host Night to Shine are provided by the Tim Tebow Foundation. Tim Tebow is an American philanthropist and former professional football quarterback whose outspoken Christian faith made him a cultural phenomenon, with his habit of dropping to one knee in prayer on the field becoming known as “Tebowing.”
The event is held simultaneously at over 700 churches worldwide. New Life Christian Church’s vision is to provide an unforgettable night full of Faith, Hope and Love for the amazing people in our community with special needs (ages 14+).
“It’s open to anyone living with disabilities, aged 14 and older,” said Pastor Squitieri. “And an unforgettable worldwide celebration event, centered on God’s love, honoring and valuing people with special needs.”
Each event is unique to its location, but cornerstone activities included across all of them are a red carpet entrance complete with a warm welcome from a friendly crowd and paparazzi, hair and makeup stations, shoeshines, limousine rides, karaoke, gifts, a catered dinner, a Sensory Room, a Respite Room for parents and caregivers, dancing, and a crowning ceremony where every guest is honored as a King or a Queen — just the way God sees them each and every day.
“We have a team of 12 and over 200 volunteers working hard to ensure the evening is a night to remember for our 80 honored guests,” said Pastor Squitieri.
Night to Shine requires the help of thousands of volunteers across the globe and is a wonderful way to connect with and serve your community of people with special needs! From serving as a guest’s buddy or member of the red carpet paparazzi to keeping the enthusiasm up on the dance floor or serving food, there is something for everyone.
To volunteer at Night to Shine, you can register and receive a background check through the New Life Christian Church. Once registered, the church will provide you with the necessary information and training you will need to serve at Night to Shine.
