A Brooksville man has been arrested following a six-month narcotics investigation by the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office. On January 22, 2025, detectives executed a search warrant at 712 Hazel Ave., where they seized over 10 ounces of marijuana and nearly five grams of cocaine.
Brian Lamar Haygood, 43, was arrested and charged with multiple offenses, including:
– Two counts of Possession with Intent to Sell within 1,000 feet of a Worship Center
– Two counts of Unlawful Use of a Two-Way Communication Device
– Two counts of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
– Possession of Cocaine
Haygood was taken to the Hernando County Detention Center and held on a $31,000 bond.
The Hernando County Sheriff’s Office continues to fight illegal drug activity in the community and protect residents from the dangers associated with narcotics.
