Hernando County Sheriff’s Office Seeks Public’s Help in Solving Two Homicides

The Hernando County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance in solving two unsolved homicides. The victims, Marcus Easterling and Devonta Washington were both killed in South Brooksville several years apart, and their cases remain open.

Easterling, 32, was found dead on March 3, 2017, while Washington, 22, was killed on February 3, 2021. Despite ongoing investigations, no arrests have been made in connection with either case.

Detectives David M. Vargas Jr. and Chris Kraft are urging anyone with information to come forward. Even the smallest detail could help in solving these crimes and bringing justice to the victims and their families.
