Just before 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 7, 2025, Hernando County Fire and Emergency Services (HCFR) responded to a multi-vehicle crash with entrapment at the intersection of Culbreath Road and Ayres Road in Brooksville. Upon arrival, crews found three vehicles heavily damaged and one occupant trapped. Firefighters initiated extrication efforts while also tending to two additional patients. A medical helicopter was requested for the Trauma Alert patient; however, due to foggy conditions in the area, the helicopter was unable to fly. HCFR transported a total of three patients to local hospitals, including one listed as a Trauma Alert.
