Spring Hill Motorcyclist Killed in U.S. 19 Crash

A 20-year-old Spring Hill man was killed early Tuesday after his motorcycle collided with an SUV at an intersection on U.S. 19, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred at approximately 7:34 a.m. when a 52-year-old Spring Hill woman driving a GMC SUV northbound on U.S. 19 attempted to turn left at Windward Boulevard. The SUV crossed into the path of a southbound Honda motorcycle operated by the 20-year-old man, resulting in a collision.

Following the impact, the SUV veered onto the shoulder and struck a roadway sign, while the motorcycle came to rest in the highway.

The motorcyclist sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The SUV driver suffered minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital.

The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
