I’d been waiting so long but finally, there they were… standing tall, scarlet red and proud! Bunches of beautifully crisp and tart, long stalks of rhubarb nestling between the usually predictable displays of blueberries, raspberries and strawberries in my local Publix grocery store.
I did a quick double-take just to make sure, but there they were—four trays only of fresh rhubarb for the taking ranging from $7 to $9 per tray. They are there no more but safely in my trolley.
If you’re looking for rhubarb, now is your chance. Better call ahead though. It’s only available in a few stores as I discovered after driving to three other locations to buy more without success. I also failed miserably when I tried Instacart for home delivery, but it was not listed.
