On Saturday, March 29, 2025, A New Generation welcomes people of all ages and abilities to walk to save lives during its first Walk For Life fundraiser being held at Tom Varn Park in Brooksville, Florida. The event takes place from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., and sponsors and supporters can check in beginning at 8:00 a.m. to walk the trail for a compassionate and worthy purpose while creating awareness.
A New Generation in Hernando County began in 1999 when Mrs. Stephanie Knight first opened and warmly welcomed pregnant women to receive nonjudgmental, compassionate and respectful free prenatal care along with gentle wisdom and guidance to help save lives. According to Executive Director, Ms. Cheryl Bennett, “In 1973, there were no pregnancy centers around because there wasn’t a perceived need of them after Roe vs. Wade became law. However, many women quickly realized there was a need for young women to go to a pregnancy center as an alternative to an abortion clinic so that they would be given better options.”
Bennett explained that A New Generation was originally located in a small building in Downtown Brooksville, has moved a couple of times, and is now located in the heart of Hernando County in Spring Hill, where Stephanie Knight continues to currently serve as the board Chairman and is still actively involved in the ministry she created.
As a faith-based organization, A New Generation serves both women and men compassionately. Bennett states, “We are a medical facility. We are overseen by a Medical Director, and two Registered Nurses that are on staff, and all of our ultrasounds are read by a radiologist, so we are doing things right and honorable.” The medical staff presents their services by eagerly sharing “truth, love, support and opportunity” with each individual client, according to Cheryl.

A New Generation provides hope for those who walk in seeking help that will affect many lives as a new life is formed in a woman’s womb. The organization provides the new mother and father with support, educates them about parenthood, gives free pregnancy testing, reproductive loss support, abortion recovery support, and even has a baby boutique for the birth parents to choose clothing for their newborn baby.
Newly hired Coach Jamie Rodriguez teaches new and expectant fathers how to be proactive, great dads from the start with his “Doctor Dad Course.”
Thus far, in 2024, 224 out of 362 women have made a courageous decision to protect their baby’s life.

Bennett said, “The purpose of Walk for Life is to truly make a family statement” that says “We, in Hernando County, we stand for life.” A New Generation is a safe place that helps build and strengthen our community by creating awareness, showing support for all unborn new lives, and respecting and honoring both of their birth parents so that future American generations can and will survive.
