Notes from the Museums: It Says Brooksville

Brooksville Main Street had a swarm of volunteers on Russell Street last Saturday morning for the Beautify Brooksville event. They cut brush, weeded, trimmed, painted. They power-washed Good Neighbor Trail signs, the Countryman One Room Schoolhouse and the 1885 Depot Museums and walkways. The buildings had suffered an accumulation of dust and grime from the year-long unpaved condition of Russell Street on one side and then the months of construction dust coming from the new public works building on the south side.

Chris Rhodes, president of the Main Street board of directors, helped get all these projects in motion and then took on another special project. Dressed in his colorful work clothes, Chris climbed the scaffolding provided by Paul Beasley and repainted the Brooksville signs on both ends of the historic Depot building. What a difference it makes to have the signs freshened up. Brooksville has the Best Volunteers.
