A 45-year-old Brooksville man was struck and killed in a hit-and-run crash early Monday morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred around 4:20 a.m. on April 15 at the intersection of Wiscon Road and California Street. Troopers say an early model Dodge Durango, color initially unknown, was traveling westbound on Wiscon Road when it struck the pedestrian, who had been walking northbound across the roadway.

The driver fled the scene, continuing westbound. The pedestrian died from his injuries at the scene.

In an update released today, FHP reported that the suspect vehicle — a white Dodge Durango — was found unoccupied at a McDonald’s on Cortez Boulevard.
