At the regular Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) meeting on September 8, 2020, the board voted unanimously to approve an ordinance (Chapter 18, Article IV), removing the prohibition of the use of fireworks on New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day, and Independence Day.

The newly-enacted Chapter 2020-11, which allows for fireworks (as opposed to just sparklers) to be used on the above mentioned holidays.

The ordinance also deletes Chapter 18, Article IV, Fireworks from the list of Land Development Regulations (LDR) in Chapter 23, as the Article does not govern the use and development of land and is not an LDR.
