by KATHRYN DENTATO

On Sept. 3, 2020, Brooksville’s City Council met to discuss and approve the Fire Assessment rate for FY2021. Fire Chief Ron Snowberger presented Resolution 2020-15, which explains the scope of the assessments and how they were determined.

The “calls for service” or demand methodology is based on a flat fee for each specific type of property. The chart provided in the resolution (below) was approved last year. There is no rate increase from FY2020 to FY 2021, Snowberger said. The resolution states the assessment will provide $991,707 of the Fire Department’s budget.
