A 45-year-old female from Tarpon Springs driving a pickup was traveling southbound in the northbound inside lane of Commercial Way approaching the intersection of Country Road. A second vehicle, a sedan, driven by a 31-year-old male from Weeki Wachee was traveling northbound in the inside lane of Commercial Way approaching the intersection of Country Road. Just north of the intersection, the two vehicles collided head-on. The driver from Tarpon Springs said she was unfamiliar with the area and was relying on her GPS incurred serious injuries She was later cited for driving on the wrong side of the divided highway. The second driver who had minor injuries was later arrested for DUI (0.254 BAC) by FHP Troopers. Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts.
