Christmas angels come in many forms; and this Christmas season, nine Hernando organizations aided a local church in delivering many rays of Yuletide sunshine to families in need.
On Dec. 19, 70 families that included 216 children received donations of Christmas gifts and food at St. Andrews Ukrainian Catholic church.
“Providing all the gifts and food was a community-wide effort,” said Carole C, Babicz, president of Nature Coast Art League.
Participating in this mass giving project were members of the Nature Coast Art League, Weeki Wachee Senior Center, Weeki Wachee Anglers Club, St. Joan of Arc, Columbiettes, St. Andrew Knights of Columbus, Heather Community Association, the Timber Pines Neighbors, and the Highpoint Lions.
“The success of this project, providing 216 children with a wonderful Christmas, would not have been possible without your support, donations, generosity, and the physical labor in wrapping, transporting and distributing the food and gifts!” said Babicz.
“Please accept my sincere thank you on behalf of all the recipients!” she continued.
And our warmest thanks to all of these church groups, arts groups, community clubs, hobby groups, etc., for doing their part to ensure that needy families in Hernando had a merry Christmas.
