The FHSAA State Championship Track meet kicked off Saturday at the University of North Florida. Hernando High had a strong showing with Sophomore A’Regi-nae White winning the state championship in the long jump. Hernando Athletics additionally reports that she finished 4th in the triple jump, 7th in the 100 meter dash and teamed up with Sy Crowley, Tania Holland and Shanyea Rayford to place 7th in the 4×100 meter relay.In Boys Track, Senior Justin Fabela placed with-in the top 10 in the 400 meter dash; Sophomore Devin Williams did well in the discus and shotput.Weeki Wachee High School’s David Richards earned the State Runner Up spot in the Boys 110HH Track. Last year he was the GC-8 Track Athlete of the Year.”I love when I have flaws because that means there is always something to improve in, I’m all about getting better everyday and finding new ways to make that possible. I’m a fast and persistent learner along with the attributes of a hard worker.
