Notice is hereby given that the City Council of the City of Brooksville will hold a Public Hearing on Monday, August 3, 2020, at 8:00 p.m., or thereafter, in the Joseph E. Johnston, III, Council Chambers, located at 201 Howell Ave., Brooksville, Fl.  34601, for the Second and Final Reading of Ordinance No. 920.  The purpose of the meeting is to hear a voluntary annexation request for subject property identified as Hernando County Property Appraiser Key Number 360745 and Key Number 950518 be annexed into the City of Brooksville.  The subject properties total approximately 26.6 acres and are located immediately west of Broad Street (US Highway 41) and north of Mason Smith Road. The application/petition and a more complete legal description may be obtained in the Community Development Department office at City Hall, 201 Howell Avenue, Brooksville, FL 34601.

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF BROOKSVILLE, FLORIDA, ANNEXING BY VOLUNTARY PETITION PURSUANT TO SECTION 171.044, FLORIDA STATUTES, APPROXIMATELY 26.6 ACRES OF REAL PROPERTY LOCATED WEST OF BROAD STREET (US HIGHWAY 41) AND NORTH OF MASON SMITH ROAD BEARING HERNANDO COUNTY PROPERTY APPRAISER KEY NUMBER 360745 AND HERNANDO COUNTY PROPERTY APPRAISER KEY NUMBER 950518 INTO THE MUNICIPAL BOUNDARIES OF THE CITY OF BROOKSVILLE, FLORIDA; PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION; PROVIDING FOR FILINGS WITH THE APPROPRIATE GOVERNMENTAL AGENCIES; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

Interested parties may appear at the meeting and be heard with respect to the proposed ordinance.  All persons wishing to be heard, please take notice and govern yourself accordingly.  You are further advised that if a person decides to appeal any decision with respect to any matter considered at these proceedings, he will need a record of the proceedings, and that, for such purpose, he may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made which record includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based.
