Hernando High, coming off a huge win over Springstead, wasn’t able to keep the momentum going against Lakeland Kathleen.

Hernando High lost their Homecoming game to Lakeland Kathleen on Friday night Oct. 15, 2021.  While their record doesn’t show it (now 2-5) Kathleen is a talented, well-organized, and disciplined team- which they used to secure a win over Hernando.  Kathleen is ranked at 204 in the state, while Hernando is at 270.  The final score was 24-0.

A common opponent is Zephyrhills, to which both teams lost. Hernando took a big loss to Zephyrhills early in the season (43-2), while it was a close loss for Kathleen (16-12).

Hernando’s record is now 4-3. They have a week to rest up before they face Sunlake High School (2-6) at home on Oct. 29, when Senior Night festivities will also take place.
