Tide for a Cause Photography Contest

Calling all local artists! Tidal Brewing Company, Hernando County Environmentally Sensitive Lands, and Roots Creative Co. are proud to announce our first-ever photography contest in partnership with Florida Adventure Coast and the Hernando County Fine Arts Council!
The winning artists will be featured at our December 10th Tide for a Cause Event and win a variety of prizes from our participating sponsors! We will spotlight the winning artwork and the winning artists will have the opportunity to display and sell artwork at this event as well.
In addition to the reception, the event will feature a limited-edition beer release inspired by Lake Townsen Preserve and appearances by Conservation Lands Specialist Michael Singer from Hernando ESL and Emilio ‘Sonny’ Vergara, the photography contest judge.
Theme:
Photos must be taken at Lake Towsen Preserve (28011 Lake Lindsey Rd, Brooksville, FL 34601) and must depict nature scenes, native plants, flowers, or wildlife.
Timeline:
Contest launches: 9/24/21
Contest closes: 10/24/21
Announce winners: 11/12/21

ABOUT US
The Hernando Sun is a locally owned weekly newspaper. The founders of the newspaper are Rocco and Julie Maglio. They saw the need for a newspaper when the Hernando Today newspaper closed their doors in 2014. Rocco is from Hernando, he went to school from Moton Elementary through Hernando High. Growing up in Hernando enhances his ability to provide background to ongoing issues. The Hernando Sun Printed their first issue in March 2015. They published monthly for a year before increasing to a weekly printing. The newspaper is delivered through the US mail, so it arrives with your mail.
