Brooksville City Council approved a resolution accepting and acknowledging receipt of $4,289,311.00 from the U. S. Department Of The Treasury as part of the Coronavirus State And Local Fiscal Recovery Funds Through The American Rescue Plan Act of 2021.
City Attorney John Cary with the Vose Law Firm stated, “This is a formality, but essentially if you want to avail yourself to the federal funds the federal government is offering, then they want to see that you’ve passed a resolution accepting those funds. So I am asking you to do that.”
Mayor Brayton clarified that the city will see half of those funds now and half later per the formal agreement with the Federal government.
A motion was made and passed to approve the resolution.
