NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
Notice is hereby given to all owners of lands located within the boundaries of Hernando County that the Board of County Commissioners intends to use the uniform ad valorem method of collecting non-ad valorem assessments levied by the Board of County Commissioners as set forth in section 197.3632, Florida Statutes, and that the Board of County Commissioners will hold a public hearing on December 14, 2021, at 9:00 a.m. at the County Commission Chambers, Hernando County Government Center, 20 N. Main Street, Room 160, Brooksville, Florida.
The purpose of the public hearing is to consider the adoption of a Resolution authorizing Hernando County Board of County Commissioners to use the uniform ad valorem method of collecting non-ad valorem assessments levied by Hernando County as provided in section 197.3632 Florida Statutes.
The Board of County Commissioners has adopted before January 1, 2022 non-ad valorem assessments for 2021 and subsequent years including but not limited to street lighting, road paving, multipurpose and fire hydrants.
The non-ad valorem assessments are levied for the first time and/or related to a change in boundaries of a municipal service benefit unit.
Interested parties may appear at the public hearing to be heard regarding the use of the uniform ad valorem method of collecting such non-ad valorem assessments.
If any person decides to appeal any decision made with respect to any matter considered at the public hearing, such person will need a record of proceedings and for such purpose such person may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made at their own expense and which record includes the testimony and evidence on which the appeal is based.
