Those creators of crafts and practical arts in this area will now have a new place to show off and sell their wares, all the while benefiting a social service club that supports a number of good causes in Hernando County and beyond. The Siloam Lodge No. 399 (Free and Accepted Masons of Florida) is seeking artisans and fine crafters to exhibit their masterworks at their Second Annual Wayfarer Craft Show on April 29th, 2023, from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm at the Brotherhood-Siloam Lodge Masonic Lodge No. 375 of Brooksville lodge, 13402 Montour St., Brooksville. Proceeds go to support the philanthropic efforts of the Masons, whose slogan is “making good men into better ones for more than 300 years.”
“The show supports our lodge and the several Masonic charities that our lodge sponsors like the Angel Fund (to provide for the basic needs of children, including food packages, school supplies, refurbished laptops, winter coats, etc.), The Shriners Hospital for children, and our own Masonic Home (for seniors),” explained Steven Herzman, coordinator of the 2nd annual Wayfarer Craft Show.
And aside from benefiting family services, the show is family oriented in nature. “We are seeking all types of clean business and craftspeople,” explained Herzman, coordinator of the 2nd annual Wayfarer Craft Show. “’Clean’ meaning nothing vulgar (nudity, explicit words and comments).”
A broad spectrum of arts and crafts are expected to be featured at The Wayfarer Craft Show, which last year drew more than 100 people. “We had two artists, one on wood and the other on plastic and vinyl phone cases,” said Herzman. “We had all kinds of dealers from Avon to handmade crafts. We had the bloodmobile and the sheriff’s office horse patrols. We had two local authors with their new releases.”
The rental of vendor tables cost $35 for an inside table; an outside table costs $25; food trucks, $100. “Our vendors keep 100% of their sales, we collect the booth fees and that is all,” said Herzman. “We hope to have them as soon as possible. In other Masons news, the Siloam Lodge No. 399 will host an Open House at 7 pm on Thursday, Sept. 29, at 13402 Montour St., Brooksville. “Siloam Lodge No. 399 is having an open house event open to the public for those interested in obtaining information in freemasonry or interested in joining our respected fraternity,” read information prepared and submitted by Steven Pagán, 32nd degree, Past Master of Siloam Lodge #399, Free and Accepted Freemasons of Florida. “In this event, you will meet the freemasons of Hernando County.”
Guests will receive information regarding freemasonry, a brief presentation about the fraternity, participate in Q&A sections, take a walk through a masonic lodge room, and learn about membership requirements. “We intend to bring public awareness that Freemasons are still alive and well going on its support to the community,” said Pagan. “We want to lift the interest of young men in becoming members of our organization.
