Making an Impact

A few weeks ago, my wife and I took a road trip to the north Florida (Panacea) area to visit with family. It turned out that this journey was memorable in a multitude of ways. My wife’s sister was in the beginning stages of recovery and rehabilitation from a fall that she took a couple of weeks prior and had to go through a hip and Femur bone repair. I’m not sure what the proper terminology was for this procedure, but I know it is something I would not want to face (keep this thought in mind for what happens next).

As we packed up the minivan the following morning, I managed to hook my heel on an exposed root. Then, as I was backing away from the vehicle, I lost my balance and went straight back, catching another exposed root directly on the spinal column. Now, my brother-in-law was close behind me, and as he could not react fast enough to catch my fall, he extended his leg (and work boot) to cushion the impact. After I caught my breath and gave him a weak “thumbs up” gesture, I told him, “No worries,” and headed into their place for a cold glass of iced tea (and an Ibuprofen pill).

This was not the way I had planned to make an “impact” on her side of the family! A little later, and before we hit the road, her sister brought up my hobby of writing for this paper to her husband. He offered a remark that stuck in my mind most of the way home, but my reply was equally puzzling to him. He asked me how much I made for the work I put in on each story, and when I told him that there was no money changing hands from my articles, he said, “Well, why the hell do you bother even doing it!”

So this is where I give you my “impactful” reply. I said, “A large number of readers have the opportunity to read my work both in the printed media and online. For a fraction of people that, for whatever reason, do not get cable T.V. or online computer, the main news feed that they get is from the old-style aerial antennas. And that info is mainly the left-leaning, liberal point of view.”

I then explained to him that I had been given the opportunity to bring my conservative-leaning thoughts to those folks that still love this country, honor the flag, and pick up the paper from their mailboxes. To me, this chance to spread positive, sometimes entertaining stories to those that will appreciate my “stand in life” is worth any inconvenience or loss of time that may incur.

The trip I took up to the Washington D.C. area, and being able to encamp with those patriotic members of The People’s Convoy, were what I would consider priceless, eventful memories! Even now, as I put my thoughts to print, I see “We The People” going through a historical time (on many fronts). Anybody that only gets the “top alphabet” syndicated stations (like ABC, CBS, or NBC) is getting fed a whole lot of “Fake News” (and I say that in the most sincere way).

Through one of my past articles, titled “A Knight in Digital Armor” (concerning Elon Musk and his buying of Twitter), I provided many “rural readers” with information that the liberal media would never have revealed to them. Even now, Mr. Musk has gone through that company like a tornado, firing many malevolent actors and exposing the harm that the named company did (before his acquisition). In addition, historic revelations of near traitorous deeds against the 45th President of these United States of America and many of his patriotic supporters are being exposed. The thing of it is, all the left-leaning media, from the newspapers to the local and national T.V. outlets, are making light of it as if it were some silly political prank.

This one topic alone just about makes me sick to my stomach! So I will end on a positive note, and that is that no matter what the left-leaning losers in power try to do to us (those of us that still think that there is hope for a moral-based leadership), they cannot take our love of God, family, and country away from us. We know God will win when the smoke clears and the dust settles. It is up to us to do what we can while we are still on this temporary encampment (that is called “Earth”). He will watch over us as we strive to make an impact!
