The Florida Supreme Court has granted Gov. Ron DeSantis’ request to impanel a statewide grand jury to investigate alleged adverse events connected to the mRNA COVID-19 that were manufactured by Pfizer Pharmaceuticals and Moderna, Inc.
Specifically, the petition, which was announced during a COVID-19 mRNA Vaccine Accountability Roundtable event on Dec. 13, seeks the grand jury on grounds that mRNA vaccinations carry risks, including acute cardiac injuries, encephalitis, appendicitis, shingles and other conditions and that the producers Pfizer and Moderna encouraged the vaccine’s use despite the risks.
On Dec. 22, the Florida Supreme Court approved DeSantis’ request to investigate “individuals, persons, and entities, including, but not limited to, pharmaceutical manufacturers (and their executive officers) and other medical associations or organizations involved in the design, development, clinical testing or investigation, manufacture, marketing, representation, advertising, promotion, labeling, distribution, formulation, packing, sale, purchase, donation, dispensing, prescribing, administration or use of vaccines purported to prevent COVID-19 infection, symptoms and transmission.”
The state could also prosecute other misconduct that may be uncovered during the grand jury investigation “if it (the court) determines that pursuing the criminal activity or wrongdoing is in the best interests of the investigation,” the Supreme Court said in a written statement.
Members of the panel will be chosen from a list of certified jurors submitted by the chief judges of the Fifth, Sixth, Tenth, Twelfth, and Thirteenth Judicial Circuits.
The grand jury will be impaneled for 12 calendar months.
