In 1962 the New York Times first used the word “woke.” It was the beginning of a social upheaval best expressed by the Youth International Party, Yippies, headed by Abbie Hoffman and Jerry Rubin. Both of them and their followers came from upper-middle-class suburban families.
Yippies were the instigators of initiating a revolution to destroy western culture. Bizarre and creative protests and riots were their methods of gaining media notoriety. Jerry Rubin and other followers eventually joined the upper ranks of the very establishment that they attempted to overthrow.
They focused on the social injustice of race, gender, and sexual oppression. They highlighted and ridiculed every aspect of our values and our government structure. Yippies used neo-Marxism to blast our constitution, our laws, and traditional reasoning to provoke turmoil in liberal hotspots. Even during the 1968 democrat convention, they ran a pig for president. These weirdly attired, humorous creatures were a major part of our daily news.
The astute senator, Daniel Moynihan, perceptively noted that many previously negative evil behaviors were being sanitized and justified by Marxist intellectuals that included the yippies. This process became known as “deviance down,” where insane behavior became acceptable to the mainstream media.
The woke agenda turned everything upside-down to undermine the stability of our western nations. These arrogant yippies were dismantlers of our society and were not held to explain or justify what and how their ‘just society utopian dream’ would function. These young and all-knowing naïve rebels were terrifying agitators who were creating the perception of problems in our western political system. They attempted to overthrow it but failed. Nevertheless, they succeeded in tearing out the patriotic zeal in many young Americans and planted the seeds of discontent in the minds of arrogant so-call elite graduate students, corporate heads, the media, as well as future generations.
Our teachers in government schools and at the university level emphasize the negative aspects of western history, especially the oppression of many American citizens. This failed to become a revolution but opened the door for Hoffman and Rubin’s Marxist ideas to eventually enter and prevail in our mass media as the “woke religion.” This religion of social change is where all whites are supposedly racist; riots are acceptable to create change and to cancel free speech while even killing anti-woke individuals.
Many of yesterday’s yippies and recent converts are currently in positions of power in our society. They are not only predisposed to the woke religion but zealots of it. Social injustice, white supremacy, racism, deviousness down, white fragility, and critical race theory all have been ingrained into our students from preschool through the university, which is why there is little negative reaction to these Marxist concepts by the media.
Other features of today’s wokeness should be more disconcerting to citizens. Some of the woke individuals in power today have incredible tools to curtail free speech.
Political correctness is a nebulous concept that limits free speech. The major group in power to interpret political correctness is our media. Our journalists and political pundits are usually on the far left/ communist side of the political continuum. This leaves the left in a strong position, especially with government enforcement agencies. The FBI, CIA, DOJ, and the IRS are all being used to shut down dissent. These agencies are firmly in the hands of far-left politicians, which makes the government almost a totalitarian one.
Anyone who voices a contrary idea to the woke religion can be removed from their position and/or arrested. This immense power of intimidation is contrary to our First Amendment of Free Speech as it is a powerful tool to muffle speech.
The ultimate weapon of preventing free speech is the Cancel Culture. Use of this power can remove a person from their social media platform ending their ability to earn money. Actors who say politically incorrect things can lose their ability to work in Hollywood. Political media personalities can be removed, and politicians can be falsely accused of horrendous negative incidents to destroy their credibility. The woke religion allows and encourages any means to obliterate any adversary. The solidarity of the mass media is the ultimate weapon for eliminating free speech.
The only way to save America from a Marxist takeover of our nation is for patriots to stand up utilizing free speech. With the mass media almost totally in the hands of the radical left, we need to be courageous in sharing our ideas and fears of what America could become. The media has its ideas of implementing its Marxist agenda, and We The People, have ours to keep our nation free. We should demand that the woke advocates explain how they are going to solve the problems they have outlined to demonstrate the evil acts needed to implement in this Marxist totalitarian government.
Freedom of speech is the ultimate weapon that will expose the obvious tyranny of the woke media.
