The Bravera Health Brooksville volunteer auxiliary was organized in the summer of 1962 by Mrs. Sydney (Lois) Dick. The volunteer auxiliary was officially formed on November 19, 1962. Originally known as the Pink Ladies, the auxiliary name was later changed with the addition of male volunteers in the group. Over the years members have fundraised for various causes. Currently, funds raised go directly to qualified students who are entering into a health related career.
In the fall of 2022, three students were given $1,000 scholarships and each of them were children of Bravera Health employees. From 2016 through 2022 a total of $65,767.55 in scholarships were distributed. The primary source of funding for the scholarships is through sales at the hospital Gift Shop which is open Monday through Friday, from 10am to 2pm.
In 2022 the small but mighty volunteer force of 25 members logged a total 6,700.5 hours of service!
