Christ Lutheran Church in Brooksville feeds and clothes hundreds of people in the Hernando County community through their free breakfasts and dinners, as well as their God’s Clothes Closet programs. The church’s Spring Market event has been organized to generate the needed funds for these programs and to provide a fun market experience for the public, offering any number of pretty and practical items for their perusal.

“Spring is almost here,” declared a church announcement. “We will have our wonderful Spring Market on March 25th and 26th.”

The inaugural Spring Market for this year will be on Saturday, March 25th, from 10 am until 4 pm., and Sunday, March 26th, from 12 pm until 4 pm at 475 North Ave W, Brooksville 34601. This event is open to the public, with free parking and free entry.

“Our march event will be outdoor and indoor, and we’ll have lots of vendors,” said Spring Market Coordinator Jessica Longoria, who is also coordinator of the Brooksville Pumpkin Patch.
Items up for sale will include home decor, soap, canned goods, baked goods, stained glass, jewelry, woodworking, and knitted and crocheted items.

“Our group, the Happy Sew and Sews, will be at the Spring Market,” said Longoria. “They are selling items to benefit the Lutheran Confessional Church Pakistan, which spreads Christianity in Pakistan.”

Food also will be sold at the event, with available fare including Philly Cheesesteaks.
Christ Lutheran Church has more sunshine to spread in the form of the news that the church recently received an $8500 grant from the Lutheran Women’s Mission to fund the construction of a 40×20 pavilion, to house future church meals and events. “We would love to welcome more people at our meals,” said Longoria.

The church’s community dinners are served the third Wednesday of each month from 4:30 pm to 6 pm, offering full, free to-go style meals available to everyone. The community is also welcome on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month when the church serves a free, warm, home-cooked breakfast from 9 to 10 am.

Also, those who would like to be vendors at the Christ Lutheran Church Spring Market can email [email protected] for this event info. “We are soooooo excited for Spring!” read an event notice.
