The Hernando County Sheriff’s Office reports that Jeffrey Michael Morrison was officially charged in the homicide of Mitzi Marie Babb, the Florida Forest Service Park Ranger who went missing June 19, 2018. Babb was a full time resident Park Ranger at the Croom Motorcycle Area within the Withlacoochee State Forest.
Morrison was identified as the person of interest in her disappearance and taken into custody on June 22 at the White Springs Agricultural Weigh Station in Hamilton County, FL. Authorities discovered Babb’s body in a waterway in Camden County Georgia also on June 22.
A well attended local memorial service was held for Mizi Babb at the Withlacoochee State Forest Croom Motorcycle Area on July 21.
On October 5, 2018 Morrison was charged with Murder and Concealing the Death of Another, both felonies.
He is being held without bond at the Camden County Public Safety Complex in Camden County, Georgia.
