On 11-28-18, District Two detectives began investigating a Grand Theft Auto case that occurred on Fish Cove Drive in Spring Hill.  A red Hyundai Sonata was stolen.  Investigation revealed that the suspect was possibly Michael Lisk W/M DOB/09-13-1987.

On 12-17-18, District One detectives began investigating a Grand Theft and several Vehicle Burglaries that took place at Vans, Cars, and Trucks, located at 7043 Broad St. in Brooksville.  During these crimes, a male suspect removed items from inside several vehicles at the dealership along with rims and tires from a vehicle on the lot.

On 12-17-18, District Two detectives observed the stolen vehicle being driven recklessly and attempted a traffic stop.  The driver fled at a high rate of speed.  Due to the driver’s dangerous driving pattern, the pursuit was terminated.  It was determined that Lisk was the driver who fled.

On the evening of 12-17-18, District Two patrol deputies were called to Everett Avenue in Spring Hill regarding an abandoned vehicle.  It was discovered that the vehicle was recently stolen from Elwood Road in Spring Hill.  The contents inside the vehicle were removed before it was abandoned.

On 12-18-18, employees with Vans, Cars, and Trucks observed a Hyundai Sonata with the rims on it that were stolen from the business a few days prior.  The vehicle was being driven in Pasco County by Lisk; when deputies with the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office attempted to stop the vehicle, it fled north into Hernando County, where it could not be located.

On 12-19-18 at approximately 7:24 a.m., patrol deputies responded to a Suspicious Vehicle call at the intersection of Oakwood Drive and Varsity Drive in Brooksville.  It was reported that a Hyundai Sonata, with a male later identified as Lisk, was observed in the area and the male was acting strange.  This location was not far from Hernando High School, where students were just arriving at school.

As deputies arrived on scene, Lisk fled on foot.  It was quickly determined that the vehicle was in fact the stolen Hyundai Sonata.   An intensive search took place with the assistance of detectives, patrol deputies, K9, Aviation, and Community Policing Units.

A K-9 track was conducted by Corporal Steve Miller and K-9 Justice.  Lisk was located hiding in a body of water behind a residence on Ederington Drive in Brooksville.  Lisk failed to comply with orders and K-9 Justice was deployed, resulting in Lisk being bitten before being taken into custody.

Lisk was transported to Bayfront Health Brooksville where he was treated for the dog bites.

The stolen vehicle was recovered along with the stolen rims and tires from Vans, Cars and Trucks.  Deputies also located property belonging to the Elwood Road victim inside the vehicle.

During an interview with District One and District Two detectives, Lisk admitted to committing burglaries and fleeing from law enforcement.

Michael Lisk was arrested for:

– Fleeing and Eluding
– Grand Theft Auto (2 counts)
– Resisting arrest without violence
– Commercial Burglary
– Conveyance Burglary (8 counts)
– Bond – $61,000.

The investigation continues.
