NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
Notice is hereby given to all owners of lands located within the boundaries of Hernando County that the Board of County Commissioners intends to use the uniform ad valorem method of collecting non-ad valorem assessments levied by the Board of County Commissioners as set forth in section 197.3632, Florida Statutes, and that the Board of County Commissioners will hold a public hearing on December 12, 2023, at 9:00 a.m. at the County Commission Chambers, Hernando County Government Center, 20 N. Main Street, Room 160, Brooksville, Florida.
The purpose of the public hearing is to consider the adoption of a Resolution authorizing Hernando County Board of County Commissioners to use the uniform ad valorem method of collecting non-ad valorem assessments levied by Hernando County as provided in section 197.3632 Florida Statutes.
The Board of County Commissioners has adopted before January 1, 2024 non-ad valorem assessments for 2023 and subsequent years including but not limited to street lighting, road paving, multipurpose and fire hydrants.
The non-ad valorem assessments are levied for the first time and/or related to a change in boundaries of a municipal service benefit unit.
You have a right to appear and be heard at the public hearing Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at the location described above, and/or to send written comments to Hernando County Department of Public Works, 1525 East Jefferson Street, Brooksville, Florida 34601.
