Contrary to the environmentalist agenda, if there is warming or changes in climate in certain areas of the country as a result of man, it is not because of chemicals, carbon dioxide pollution, or other conceived threats to the ozone layer, but by unnecessary, excessive deforestation.
First, large parts of the Amazon Rain forest were cleared, and were replaced by small, common corn plants, immorally raised for their fuel instead of for food, in order to supply more alcohol as a “renewable fuel source”. This clearing of the Amazon Rain Forest and many other beautiful tracts of land throughout the United States and the world for corn or for solar panels, is a large part of the environmentalist attempt to replace gasoline and fossil fuels, and contributes greatly to a hotter climate.
Second, another large cause of deforestation is that of the environmentalists insistence that firewood be used as the primary source of heat and energy, rather than diverse sources of energy, including coal and nuclear energy.
Third, countless trees can be spared by shrinking the federal regulations and administrative state, which in turn requires far less paper, both for government and enterprise.
Fourth, the number of trees and tracts of land cleared for housing can be greatly reduced when the people from densely populated cities are not provoked to leave and “resettle” in suburban or rural areas of the country due to the city’s dysfunction and high crime.
Degradation of land and unnecessary deforestation removes needed shade, privacy, beauty and oxygen from the immediate environment in which man lives, and leaves both man and every other living thing on earth subjected to the direct, hot sun, in greater amounts and for longer periods of time.
Much of the strength and importance of local politics is the citizens’ ability, and responsibility, to have a direct voice in what is or is not allowed in their specific regions of the state. This local authority, in contrast to the federal government, includes all areas of American life, from population limits, to education, the placement of a fire station, or the nature and scope of the development in a given county, so as to ensure the maximum amount of employment for the present citizens, with the least amount of deforestation.
The consideration of all good aspects of one’s nation and home city, and of balancing such priorities so as to maintain or restore its these aspects, is a large part of what it means to be a conservative.
