Spring Hill Drive was the site of a collision that claimed the life of a pedestrian from Pennsylvania.
Florida Highway Patrol Spokesman Sgt. Steve Gaskins said that shortly after 7 p.m. on Jan. 11, a Toyota RAV4 Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) driven by a 64-year-old woman from Thonotosassa, Fl. was traveling west on Spring Hill Drive while on East Air Commerce Boulevard, a 46-year-old woman from Montandon, Pa. was walking in the travel lanes of the roadway which were wet after a recent rain event.
The Florida driver was unable to see the pedestrian in the dark. When she did, she made an effort to avoid colliding with her.
Even so, she struck the pedestrian, who was taken to an area hospital, where she died that night from the injuries she sustained in the incident.
