It simply wouldn’t be July here in Hernando County without the grand, patriotic Red, White and Brews celebration. In addition to the vibrant live music, yummy food and drink, fireworks and kids activities, this year’s event is taking place at a sparkling new location! What hasn’t changed, of course, is the free admission and rich charitable component that allows everyone to get the very most out of this annual, much-anticipated event.
This year’s Red, White and Brews, presented by Hits 106 and United Way of Hernando County, is set to take place at 5 p.m. Saturday, July 6, at Florida Classic Park, 5360 Lockhart Road, Brooksville. Admission is free, and parking is $5.
“Get ready for a fantastic night out at the newly relocated Red, White, and Brews event at Florida Classic Park!” said Atlanta McDonald, event spokesperson and account executive at Hits 106, a premiere event sponsor. “We’re bringing you an evening packed with live music, delicious food, spectacular fireworks, and fun activities for all ages. Best of all, admission is completely free!”
Live music will be performed courtesy of Embry Brothers Band, Shevonne and the Force and The Bearded Brothers.
“Be Good, Be Kind, Be Happy, Rock On” is the slogan espoused by the Embry Brothers Band, which has played together for more than 25 years. This popular band plays Classic Rock, Country, and Southern Rock.
“We’re really looking forward to it,” read a quote specially prepared for The Hernando Sun by the Embry Brothers Band. “We love doing shows with the Beards! Practically every song we play is somebody’s favorite song. Expect to dance and have a great time! We know how Hernando loves to party so we’re all gonna bring it to em!”
“Be the change you wish to see in the world” is the signature slogan of Shevonne Philidor, a genre-bending artist, singer-songwriter, producer, and actress who made her first TV debut on America’s Most Talented Kids, and in 2010, she made an appearance on America’s Got Talent Wild Card. She also made American Idol’s top 40 twice in 2016 and 2019, the same year she performed at Austin City Limits. She also performed at ABC’s Juneteenth celebration with T.I. and Domani.
“A band with Southern Rock roots and a style all their own! No genre is safe when the Beards play!!” is the tagline of The Bearded Brothers Band, comprised of three blazing guitars, a sweet thumping bass and sledge hammer drums with amazing 4 piece harmonies and a real penchant for party music.
And as always, Red, White and Brews will offer something for the younger set. “Bring the little ones for a fun-filled Kid Zone with games and activities just for them!” invited McDonald.
Guests also can enjoy the sumptuous offerings of food trucks and vendors. “Enjoy a variety of delicious offerings from local food trucks and browse unique items from our fun vendors,” said McDonald.
And, of course, it simply wouldn’t be a Red, White and Brews celebration without stunning blasts of colorful and ebullient fireworks! “Stick around for a stunning fireworks display at dark,” invited McDonald. “It’s the perfect way to end an amazing evening!”
And it’s all for a good cause. “All beer proceeds will benefit Win the Day and parking proceeds will benefit the United Way,” said McDonald, “so you can sip and support a great cause at the same time!”
The Win the Day Foundation is a Hernando County-based nonprofit organization with the sole purpose of serving its community.
United Way of Hernando County brings together local businesses, organizations and volunteers to focus on lasting changes to key issues here in our community.
“So mark your calendars, gather your friends and family, and come enjoy a night of fun, music, and fireworks at our new home (for this year only) in Florida Classic Park,” said McDonald. “See you there!”
