NOTICE OF 30-DAY COMMENT PERIOD AND PUBLIC HEARING FOR
DRAFT 2024-2026 HUD CONSOLIDATED PLAN AND
PROGRAM YEAR 2024-2025 ANNUAL ACTION PLAN
As a new Urban County Entitlement and recipient of federal funds through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Hernando County is required to submit a three-year Consolidated Plan and an Annual Action Plan. The plans guide how the county will allocate its Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME Investment Partnerships Program (HOME) funds and carry out housing and community development activities over a three-year period (2024-2026) and for the first program year (2024-2025). The mission of the federal programs requiring a Consolidated Plan and Annual Action Plan is to provide decent housing, a suitable living environment and expand economic opportunities for very-low, low, and moderate-income persons.
The county invites residents, housing and homeless partners, service providers, business partners, and other stakeholders to provide comments on the draft Consolidated Plan and Annual Action Plan during the 30-day period from Friday July 12, 2024 through Monday August 12, 2024.

Online comments can also be made via the county’s virtual engagement page at https://www.fhcconnect.org/hernando-county-consolidated-planning . The Board of County Commissioners will also hold a Public Hearing Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at 9:00 am to obtain input and comments for the proposed activities in the draft 2024-2026 Consolidated Plan and draft PY 2024-2025 Annual Action Plan. The plans are also intended to be adopted at this hearing. The public hearing will be held at Hernando County Government Center, John Law Ayers Commission Chambers (Room 160) 20 N. Main Street, Brooksville, FL 34601.
