On 08-05-2024, the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) was contacted by the Hernando County School District (HCSD) that a 14-year-old student had come forward regarding an elementary school teacher who was communicating with the student on an online dating app.
Allegedly, the teacher communicated with the student, expressing sexual acts that he liked and would teach to the juvenile.
Detectives identified Michael Ronald Iannaccone DOB/09-12-1976, as a teacher who works at Deltona Elementary. Iannaccone reportedly knew he was communicating with an underage student.
Using the student’s account, on 08-06-2024, detectives took over online conversations with Iannaccone, where he discussed various sex acts. Some of these online conversations occurred while Iannaccone was at work at Deltona Elementary School.
On 08-07-2024, detectives responded to the HCSD office at 919 N. Broad Street in Brooksville where Iannaccone was taken into custody. Post Miranda, Iannaccone admitted to using the online dating app to knowingly communicate with the juvenile about performing sexual acts.
Iannaccone is charged with Transmission of Material Harmful to a Minor by Electronic Device or Equipment and Unlawful Use of a Two-Way Communication Device. He was transported to the Hernando County Detention Center where he is being held in lieu of a $4,500 bond.
