Former Brooksville Mayor to focus on Revitalization and Collaboration

Brooksville, FL — June 17, 2019 — As Brooksville Vision Foundation discussed qualifications and characteristics they wanted to see in their new Executive Director, one name made sense to them all; “Natalie Kahler’s accomplishments and resume matched the criteria we needed for our Director. Combined with twenty years of service to our community she and her family have provided, she became the ideal candidate for all of us” said Cliff Manuel, Brooksville Vision Foundation President.

Leading Through Serving

Kahler has served in a wide variety of roles over the years: she founded a respite program for kids with special needs, ran a weekly food pantry that fed 500 under-resourced residents, brought national attention and resources to Chinsegut Hill Retreat and Museum, and handled all the boring but necessary paperwork to keep kids playing football safely with Hernando Youth League. Her enthusiasm and dedication have created strong, committed volunteer teams in each organization. Through her influence as an English and Journalism teacher, former students have careers in photography, filmmaking, education, marketing, and writing. And her #believeinbrooksville hashtag shows her natural inclination as an ambassador for Brooksville.

Unity of Purpose

“One of the highlights of my term as Mayor was traveling to Tallahassee to advocate for our acceptance in Florida’s Main Street Program. I have always believed Brooksville Main Street Program is a critical component in making Brooksville its best version of itself,” said Kahler. “I am honored to have been asked to be part of it. We are gifted with so much talent and believe we are making great progress in uniting it into a common goal.”

Brooksville Main Street is a program of the Brooksville Vision Foundation, in partnership with the City of Brooksville and Hernando County. The Main Street Program has brought a positive impact to many cities in Florida and across the nation. The Brooksville Vision Foundation realizes Hernando County community’s desire to have a thriving urban core; one that supports an active business environment, a place to recreate and a place proud to call home. The Brooksville Vision Foundation is accepting membership applications and pledges.
