All County, City Dump Trucks Enlisted in Debris Removal and Landfill Locations Open 24/7

Hernando County PIO Dominique Holmes says the County and the City of Brooksville have mobilized all of their dump trucks to remove the debris and they have taken additional action in opening landfill locations 24/7 prior to Hurricane Milton.

Residents and Contractors are now permitted to utilize the West Hernando Convenience Center and the Main Landfill 24/7 during this pre-storm event for Hurricane Milton.

Trailers are permitted at all locations below. All storm debris related tipping fees are waived, until further notice.

Landfill and Convenience Centers Updated Operations:

  • The Northwest Solid Waste Facility (Main Landfill: 14450 Landfill Rd.) is open 24/7, until further notice.
  • The West Hernando Convenience Center (2525 Osowaw Blvd.) is open 24/7, until further notice.
  • The East Hernando Convenience Center (33070 Cortez Blvd.) is open during normal operating hours which are Tuesday – Saturday, 9 am-5 pm.

Garbage collection through Republic Services is operating tomorrow Tuesday, October 8th, and will not operate on Wednesday, October 9th.
