Pasco-Hernando State College will host a Financial Recovery workshop on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. This event will be held at the PHSC Porter Campus at Wiregrass Ranch Conference Center, 2727 Mansfield Blvd., Wesley Chapel.
This event is open to the public and free with lunch provided, sponsored by The Copeland Team. This event is designed to give students and the community resources to aid them in their financial recovery journey after the lasting effects of Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton. The workshop will include valuable information about steps that can be taken to secure and work towards financial wellness, as well as community resources and agencies that are prepped and ready to assist families.
Originally, the event was intended as a “Financial Fitness” workshop aimed at providing attendees with knowledge on goals, homeownership, and economic stability. However, after the financially traumatic events of the Hurricanes, the focus of this workshop has shifted in the best interest of the community. The original workshop for Financial Fitness has been moved to a soon-to-be-announced date in Spring 2025, with offerings of one-on-one sessions.
“For PHSC, our community partnerships are essential in our service to students and each other. Natural occurrences, like hurricanes, have a way of reminding us that we are in this together.” Said Davina Jones Ph.D., Provost of PHSC’s Porter Campus.
