On Nov. 6, HCSO received information that led to the arrest of a 32-year-old man for Traveling to Meet a Minor for Sex and Unlawful Use of a Two-Way Communication Device to Facilitate a Felony.

Detectives discovered that the suspect, Jon Paul Iadisernia, was having inappropriate conversations with a 13-year-old girl via a social media platform.

They used the victim’s account to communicate with Iadisernia undercover. During the conversation, Iadisernia suggested the girl meet him at the Taco Bell at 11140 Spring Hill Drive and then go back to his house on Henderson Street to engage in sexual intercourse.

Shortly after making the arrangements on the social media platform, Iadisernia walked to Taco Bell to meet the girl. He was arrested immediately.

During an interview with Iadisernia, post-Miranda, he admitted that he knew the girl was only 13 years old but said he was only going to have sex with her if she was over 18.

Iadisernia is being held at the Hernando County Detention Center in lieu of a $10,000 bond. Conditions of the bond are no contact with anyone under 18 years of age and GPS monitor.

He has an arraignment scheduled for Dec. 3, 2024, at 9 am with Judge Daniel Merritt, Jr.
