A Spring Hill resident has been arrested on multiple charges, including possession of child pornography and sexual activities involving an animal, following an investigation by the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office.
Detectives received a tip on Oct. 16, 2024, about the possible possession of child pornography. Their investigation identified the suspect as Mark Anthony Mazur, 33. After establishing probable cause, authorities obtained a search warrant for Mazur’s residence on Greenbrier Court.
On Dec. 23, detectives with the Sheriff’s Special Victims Unit executed the warrant and interviewed Mazur at his residence. According to the Sheriff’s Office, Mazur admitted post-Miranda to owning the social media account containing child sexual abuse material (CSAM). He also acknowledged being aware of the illegal content and said he obtained the material from other users via multiple social media platforms.
A search of Mazur’s cellphone uncovered 14 additional videos of CSAM.
Mazur was arrested and charged with:
Possession of Child Pornography (16 counts)
Unlawful Use of a Two-Way Communication Device
Sexual Activities Involving an Animal
Mazur is being held without bond.
“This is an ongoing investigation,” said Sheriff Al Nienhuis. “We have zero tolerance for the possession of child sexual abuse material. Every tip will be meticulously investigated, and no stone will be left unturned. Offenders will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”
