The quaint and cozy Richloam General Store and Post Office, established in 1921, hosted the 7th Annual Christmas in Richloam event on Saturday, Dec. 21.
The historic store, located at 38219 Richloam Claysink Rd in Webster, is nestled in the middle of thick woods. The endurance of the building is a present-day Christmas miracle due to the sturdy but humble building materials that were used to build it in preparation for World War I. Most notable are the facts behind the small building that prove the Richloam General Store and Post Office truly is an authentic American gem.
The first 100 people to attend the event received a Christmas gift, and everyone who attended the Richloam Christmas gathering got to take an old-fashioned American photograph with Santa Claus sitting in front of the decorated Christmas tree. Attendees waited patiently in line to visit with Santa while a military veteran played the ukulele.
In front of the general store upon entry, Old Glory waves. The joyful general store sells a variety of items, including drinks, candy, honey, jams and jellies, Hawaiian ukuleles, cowboy guitars, soaps, salves, and camping accessories. With a wide variety to choose from, visitors to the general store quietly browsed inside the store and purchased gifts for Christmas.
