A large-scale narcotics operation in Brooksville resulted in 10 drug-related arrests and the seizure of significant amounts of methamphetamine and fentanyl, according to the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office.
On Jan. 30, the HCSO Vice and Narcotics Unit, with assistance from the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office and the HCSO SWAT teams, executed simultaneous search warrants at three properties on Carter Road. The adjoining properties—9135, 9155, and 9165 Carter Road—were all owned by the same family, authorities said.
Nine individuals were arrested at the scene, while a tenth suspect, Chylse Garrett, was taken into custody separately by the Special Investigations Unit (SIU) following the operation.

Daniel Gonzales, 38 – Possession of drug paraphernalia; active warrant for multiple methamphetamine-related charges

Shane Winn, 37 – Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of methamphetamine, fentanyl and drug paraphernalia
Tiffany Salas, 43 – Possession of methamphetamine, fentanyl and drug paraphernalia
Jerry Moore Jr., 55 – Trafficking in fentanyl, possession of controlled substances including buprenorphine-naloxone, marijuana, and a “New Legend” drug
Morgan White, 44 – Possession of ammunition by a convicted felon, possession of a “New Legend” drug, possession of drug paraphernalia, outstanding warrants for meth-related charges
Linda Sturgill, 49 – Possession of drug paraphernalia
Marc Miller, 55 – Possession of drug paraphernalia
Kenneth Wright, 55 – Possession of drug paraphernalia
Chylse Garrett, 28 – Arrested on a failure to appear warrant and multiple meth-related charges
During the raid, deputies recovered:

62.4 grams of fentanyl
31.1 grams of methamphetamine
0.4 grams of marijuana
Various prescription pills, including buprenorphine-naloxone, doxycycline, hydroxyzine pamoate, and gabapentin
Weapons & Ammunition:
One firearm
354 rounds of miscellaneous ammunition and one box of .410 shells
Sheriff Al Nienhuis highlighted the significance of proactive policing in combating drug-related crime, stressing the department’s dedication to removing dangerous substances from the community and preventing convicted felons from accessing firearms. He noted that the coordinated effort with regional agencies demonstrated the value of intelligence-driven law enforcement strategies.
