The Hernando County Sheriff’s Office reports that on Feb. 17, 2025, at approximately 7:30 p.m., HCSO deputies responded to a residence on Shayne Street regarding a shooting that had just occurred at the Super Saver Food Store located in South Brooksville.
The female victim advised deputies she was at the store when she became involved in an argument with the suspect, Domnic Delaine, age 18.
The victim said her disagreement with Delaine started when she told him to stop arguing with the store clerk at which time, he responded by brandishing a firearm and shouting, “I’ll air the place out.”
The victim further advised Delaine made several threats that he was going to shoot her.
Following the threats made by Delaine, the victim exited the store, got into her vehicle, and proceeded to drive away. The victim said Delaine chased after her vehicle on foot. She then saw him point a gun in her direction and fire several shots. She continued to drive away as the rear driver’s side window on her vehicle shattered from being struck by one of the bullets.
The entire incident was captured on the store’s surveillance cameras.
Probable cause was established by detectives to arrest Delaine on charges of Attempted Murder, Shooting into an Occupied Vehicle, Discharging a Firearm in Public, Delinquent in Possession of a Firearm, and Felony Criminal Mischief.
On 02-24-2025, with help from the U.S. Marshal Task Force, Delaine was located at a residence on Ward Avenue in Brooksville, where he was taken into custody without incident.
Delaine was transported to the Hernando County Detention Center, where after processing, he was taken to the Department of Juvenile Justice facility in Ocala.
Due to the severity of the crime and his previous criminal history, the State Attorney’s Office plans to charge Delaine as an adult.
