The Weeki Wachee Swamp Fest celebrated another successful year this past weekend, March 7-9, at Linda Pedersen Park. The annual community event featured a variety of entertainment, activities, and vendors, all aimed at raising money for Hernando County charities.
Each day began with the Hernando Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla presenting the colors, followed by the national anthem. The entertainment schedule kicked off with “Bluegrass Friday,” featuring lively performances from bluegrass bands. Saturday showcased a variety of musical acts along with the popular Swamp Monster Contest, and the weekend concluded with “Country Sunday.”
Attendees enjoyed rows of arts and crafts booths, food truck vendors, and family-friendly activities. Highlights included live music, face painting, axe throwing and demonstrations from talented artisans such as blacksmiths and woodworkers.
In a statement, Swamp Fest organizers expressed gratitude to the community. “To all of our vendors, sponsors, and festival attendees, thank you so much for supporting Swamp Fest Weeki Wachee this year! Our non-profit organization is 100% volunteer. We are simply a group of individuals who work together to give back to their community. Your sponsorships, vendor and admission fees help the community through donations to local charitable organizations from our net proceeds.”
Organizers also thanked those who have already committed to participating next year, reinforcing the festival’s mission of fostering community spirit while supporting local causes.
The Swamp Fest continues to be a beloved tradition that brings residents together to celebrate the arts and raise funds for meaningful initiatives.
