New location for Clerk’s Spring Hill customer service office

The Hernando County Clerk of Circuit Court’s customer service office at the West Side Government Center in Spring Hill has moved from 7415 Forest Oaks Boulevard to 7405 Forest Oaks Boulevard. This new location was formerly occupied by the Hernando County Utilities Department (HCUD). HCUD moved its operation a year ago from the West Side Government Center to the former Tampa Bay Times building located at 15365 Cortez Boulevard in Brooksville. 36th Anniversary Pasta Fest

The 36th Anniversary Pasta Fest is set from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 3 at 6244 Spring Lake Hwy. Brooksville.

Serving all you can eat pasta for 99 cents from open to close. Children's games go on from 4:00 pm to 8:30 pm. Along with concessions, Face painting, a Sicilian Cart, Games and even live entertainment with a DJ and music. Manufacturing Day set for Oct. 6, 2017

CareerSource Pasco-Hernando announces the 5th Annual MANUFACTURING DAY.

Join CareerSource Pasco Hernando and Pasco-Hernando State College in celebrating National Manufacturing Day by touring a local manufacturer near you!
This year we are anticipating more than 26 manufacturers and over 650 high school students to tour local manufacturers in Pasco and Hernando counties, with over 1,800 virtual manufacturing tours viewed by high school and middle school students.

Free Dementia workshop Oct. 7

Unity Church of Citrus County, located at 2628 W. Woodview Lane in Lecanto, will host an ABC of Dementia workshop from 3 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, October 7, 2017.  The event will be free and open to the public. Addressing the topic in everyday language, workshop presenter Debbie Selsavage will define Alzheimer’s and dementia, explain how dementia affects individuals, discuss ways to interpret dementia behaviors for better communication and results, and show how compassion and the proper use voice, approach, and appropriate touch can result in more effective and less stressful caregiving.

Unity Pastor Reverend Marciah McCartney states, “We are excited about offering this learning opportunity to our members as well as the public.  Compassion and understanding are key to every relationship, but especially for those who live with this challenging disease, including their caregivers and families.”

Second Sunday Community Sing-A-Long

Unitarian Universalist Church in the Pines will meet from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Oct. 8, 2017 at Heather Community Center, 9100 Nakoma Way (1.25 miles N of Cortez), Weeki Wachee for a Community Sing. The group meets the second Sunday of every month.The next 'Sing' will be November 13. Sing great songs, enjoy wine, cheese, laughs, and fun conversation. The Maternity Suites at Oak Hill Hospital to Hold New Family Care Class

The Maternity Suites at Oak Hill Hospital will hold a class called New Family Care class on Friday, October 6, from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm in the Oak Hill Hospital, 11307 Cortez Boulevard, Maternity Suites Education Room, North Tower third floor, Brooksville, Florida 34613. 17th Annual Residents Reception

As a resident, we’re sure you have many questions about Hernando County.
