Matchbox Day at the County Fairgrounds

August 11, 2017 - 10:45

SUNDAY, AUG. 13, 2017 9 AM TO 3 PM

Matchbox Cars and Trucks are undoubtedly one the world’s most popular toys. Originating in Britain in the early 50s, the company produced thousands of different model cars and trucks and, in conjunction with diemaker Jack Odell, and the introduction of small-box packaging, the popularity of the toys had spread worldwide by the mid 60s.

Matchbox cars and trucks are not just for the kids to play with, they hold a huge appeal to adult collectors because of their highly-detailed castings and designs.

So if you’re a Matchbox car fan or collector, mark your calendar for Matchbox Day at the Hernando County Fairgrounds on Aug. 13, 2017. Enjoy the onsite Hot Wheels drag strip, collectible diecast pieces to swap, sell, and purchase. The Fairgrounds will also feature a RC 1/8-scale sled pulling on a 30-foot clay track.
