On Monday April 20, Chris Cuomo, CNN anchor and younger brother to New York Governor Andrew Cuomo announced that his 3 week long quarantine period had officially ended after having tested positive for COVID-19 and he was cleared by the CDC to end his quarantine period.
Chris Cuomo has been hosting his prime time CNN show from his basement while in quarantine, where he shared updates with viewers on his virus symptoms.
His emergence, the National Review reports, was captured in a video posted to CNN’s website.
“Alright, here it is: The official re-entry from the basement,” he said in the video. “This is what I’ve been dreaming of, literally, for weeks.”
The problem is the video was recorded a week after Cuomo was caught breaking the quarantine by a 65 year old bicyclist in the Hamptons, where Cuomo was visiting an undeveloped piece of property he owns, 30 minutes away from his home.
His older brother, Gov. Andrew Cuomo has instituted a ban on all unnecessary travel in New York.
In a poor attempt to get ahead of the story, Cuomo effectively admits to breaking his brother’s rule when he took the opportunity to rant on his SiriusXM radio show,
“I don’t want some jackass, loser, fat-tire biker being able to pull over and get in my space and talk bulls–t to me, I don’t want to hear it,” Cuomo said on his radio show. “I want to be able to tell you to go to hell, to shut your mouth … I don’t get that doing what I do for a living: me being able to tell you to shut your mouth or I will do you the way you guys do each other.”
After Cuomo’s rant, the bicyclist told the New York Post in an April 14 report that he called out to Cuomo when he spotted him on the vacant property, “‘Your brother is the coronavirus czar, and you’re not even following his rules — unnecessary travel.’ ”
The bicyclist said that Cuomo threatened him and described the ugly confrontation, which prompted him to file a police report.
