Earlier this month, the Greater Hernando County Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting ceremony for Spring Hill restaurant, Eli’s Café. Located in The Shoppes at Spring Hill on US 19, this restaurant is a convenient place to get a good home-cooked meal and family fun. All the food is made from scratch- absolutely nothing frozen. Many of the recipes have been handed down from owner Eli Sherman’s mother and grandmother. The cafe feature Boars Head meat and cheeses as well as a wide array of tempting breakfast and lunch delights.
Eli’s Cafe has been open for about a year now and this ribbon cutting ceremony is the culmination of a lot of hard work and perseverance. Sherman took the opportunity to thank his employees and his wife, Alice, who have all helped the company reach this point. “They’ve been with me since day one,” he says. “Without them, I’m nothing. They’re the reason why this place is doing what it’s doing.”
Sherman also commented on the friendly, home-like atmosphere. He enjoys it that he and the staff “Can sit down with you and talk to you. It’s all about the service.”
Employee Kathy Howell says, “What I enjoy most about working here is Eli and all the customers. It’s a lot of fun and a great place to work!”
