Adventure Coast Virtual Meet Up

Marian Ryan, a Floridaconservation leader for many years will speak on efforts to protect the Green Swamp, part of the Florida WildlifeCorridor, and the related Hillsborough and Withlacoochee Rivers at the Adventure CoastVirtual Meet-Up. A life-long resident of Winter Haven, Marian was a member of Polk County’s GreenSwamp Task Force and was appointed to the GreenSwamp Land Authority byGovernor Lawton Chiles in1995. She was re-appointed by Governor Jeb Bush and continued to serve until theAuthority was dissolved in1999. She has served in numerous capacities with the SierraClub including FloridaChapter Steering Committee and Executive Committee, Chapter Conservation Chair, and Interim Political Committee. She is currently Vice-Chair and Conservation Chair of the Ancient Islands Group. Conservation Awards include the 1994 Florida Sierra Club Pine Tree Award for GroupLeadership, National Conservation Award from Daughters of the American RevolutionNational Conservation Committee, Blazing Star Award2009 from the Green HorizonLand Trust, The Sierra Club 2011 Susan E.
